Press statement: COVID-19 Vaccinations
It was with great surprise that the Poznan University of Medical Sciences learnt of the article questioning the safety of COVID-19 vaccinations co-authored by Dr. Harald Walach, who used to collaborate with our University.
In the beginning of September we are opening admissions for the second intake of our English-language PhD program at PUMS.
It is with great sadness that we relay information about the recent passing of our long-time lecturer, esteemed academic, scientist, and a mentor to many generations of students and young scientists, dr. Jan Jaroszewski, MD, PhD.
We are proud to share that Maria Narożna from PUMS Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry has been awarded a 1-year Fulbright Scholarship in the BioLAB Program by Fulbright Poland. The internship will allow her to participate in research under the guidance of experienced researchers at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City, OK, USA.
The architectural project completed, financing secured and construction company selected - the newest addition to our campus will be Collegium Humanum - the Human Research Center.
We are happy to have initiated the project "University with Imagination" aiming at making PUMS more accessible to people with disabilities. The total budget of this initiative amounts to nearly 4 million PLN, most of which comes from the European Social Fund of the European Union.
Medical simulation is an exciting and effective modern teaching tool for medical professionals in all fields. We have pioneered introduction of this form of teaching in Poland in 2010. Now since 2019 we can boast a whole dedicated building for medical simulation training for students, doctors and hospital staff.
PUMS application for extension of our Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the years 2021-2027 has been approved after receiving positive evaluation by the European Commission.
We are happy to host Prof. Slav Yartsev from Department of Oncology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and Department of Medical Biophysics, University of Western Ontario for a guest lecture on "New ideas in radiotherapy".
