Regulations for Re-opening University Facilities on June 1
New regulations for the re-opening of the University starting from June 1:
- University Library will enable book rental, but not using library facilities to study.
- All activity of the University Sports Center remains suspended.
- Dormitories: no guests from outside and no gatherings allowed, new residents may be admitted only by decision of the Director of Dormitories.
- With few exceptions, classes administered in the period between June 1 and September 30 are to be held as distance learning.
- Only crucial practical classes that cannot be held on-line will be made available as in-person teaching, e.g.:
- some clinical rotations for 4th year of dental program,
- some clinical rotations for sophomore year of Advanced MD program,
- designated training and exams in Medical Simulation Center,
- lab classes for degree theses.
- All of the above in-person teaching activities can be scheduled for the period between June 1 and July 15.
-
Students who are staying abroad are not required to return to Poland (there is currently no option to do so). The end period of the academic year will be organized in such a manner so that those students are not at risk of falling behind or be disadvantaged by this situation.
-
Schedules for in-person classes will be prepared by the Dean's Office.
-
Before starting in-person clinical rotations each student is required to undergo a PCR test for SARS-CoV-2. PUMS provides free testing in its COVID lab (testing schedule for student groups will be provided shortly).
-
The following groups of students cannot participate in in-person classes:
- students who will test positive in the PCR test,
- students staying in quarantine or mandatory isolation, as well as those sharing living space with quarantined individuals,
- students showing symptoms of acute viral infection (fever, cough, dyspnea).
- Detailed health and safety guidelines for in-person teaching will be sent by e-mail. In order to participate in classes, a student will have to get familiar with these regulations and confirm this in writing in communication with the Dean's Office.
- Hospital rotations will be held under strict sanitary regulations that all participants are required to follow.
-
It is not possible to move to another student group after starting hospital rotations.
-
Students showing symptoms during classes will be isolated from the group and assisted with necessary aid.
-
All thesis defenses will be held on-line.
