Guest Lecture by Prof. Demetra Antimisiaris
We have the honor to host Prof. Demetra Antimisiaris from the University of Louisville School of Medicine as a guest speaker.
The in-person lecture will take place on June 27 at 4pm, in-person in the Senate Room in PUMS Main Library at 37a Przybyszewskiego St. in Poznan.
Demetra (Dee) Antimisiaris is the director of the University of Louisville’s Frazier Polypharmacy Program. She is an associate professor and the Assistant Dean of Continuing Medical Education in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Antimisiaris joined academia mid-career after 15 years as a long term care consultant pharmacist in the private sector. She completed her geriatric pharmacy residency in 1990 at the University of California Los Angeles. The UCLA training program focused on polypharmacy and graduated Mark Beers MD of the Beers Criteria, therefore, Dr. Antimisiaris attributes her academic career path to the UCLA geriatrics program and years of real-life experience as a consultant pharmacist.
Dr. Antimisiaris’ educational focus is on interdisciplinary MTM and polypharmacy skills building. She serves as co-chair of the 5-day interdisciplinary annual UCLA intensive course in geriatrics, hosts workshops at American Geriatrics Society meeting annually, and authors MTM certification content for pharmacist and technicians as well as continuing education on Polypharmacy for multiple professions.
