Honorary Doctorate Degree for Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak
On November 16, 2023, the President of PUMS, the University Senate, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine proudly conferred the Honoris Causa Doctorate upon the incredible Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak, Medical Director of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation. The award was given in recognition of her outstanding contributions to building civil society and her unparalleled efforts in establishing the highest standards in healthcare.

During the ceremony that took place in PUMS Library-Congress Center, the awardee said: "It is my dream that patients would receive the best possible medical care, and our foundation's goal is to make state-of-the-art equipment readily available for physicians of all specialties. We will continue to work towards that goal forever and a day."
Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak, as Medical Director, has been playing a key role in the activities of the Foundation for years. Her work, consisting of coordinating medical activities and maintaining working relations with departments that benefit from the Foundation's support, contributed to a significant improvement in the quality of healthcare in Poland.
Awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa is an expression of recognition for her persistent, dilligent work, and her invaluable contribution to the activities of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation. Through this distinction, the University recognizes the impact of the Foundation on creating a better tomorrow for Polish healthcare.
